Are you a seasoned QA / Test Automation Specialist looking to make a visible impact within a growing international financial institution?
We are partnering with a leading global Financial Services business currently undergoing a major digital transformation.
As part of a strategic expansion, they are seeking a Senior Automation Quality Control Analyst to be their first dedicated QA Engineer on the ground in Europe.
Reporting to the US QA Manager and supported by an established US QA team, you will act as the sole QA individual contributor locally, working alongside European Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners.
You will own and drive the testing strategy across critical core financial platforms, including the European General Ledger, Fee Reporting Platforms, and Client Accounting Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and execute automated test frameworks using Selenium Web Driver (C# / Page Object Model pattern) for Web, API, and backend applications.
- Create, manage, and execute manual test scenarios from scratch in
Jira and Zephyr, establishing robust quality control processes for European products.
- Work across an initial balance of
50% manual testing and 50% automation, scaling up toward an 80% automation suite over time.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate automated test suites into
- CI/CD pipelines
(e. g., Jenkins / Git Lab) for continuous execution across development cycles.
- Engage in regular Agile sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions with Product Owners and BAs to translate requirements into comprehensive functional, non-functional, and API test scripts.
- Perform root-cause analysis on test failures, manage test data setup/environments, maintain test documentation, and provide test execution reports.
- Support post-production validation and deployment releases out of the US (requiring occasional out-of-hours deployment support around 8 PM UK time).
Your background
- Minimum 5+ years of dedicated software quality assurance experience across both manual and automated testing in desktop, web, or API environments.
- Strong hands-on automation experience with Selenium using C# (or strong proficiency in Java with a willingness to work within a C# framework).
- Proven experience writing framework automation using design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM).
- Solid experience in manual test case design and execution using
Jira and test management plugins like Zephyr.
- Hands-on experience with API testing (e. g., Postman, RESTful services) and working within Agile / CI/CD pipeline environments.
- Background in Banking, Financial Services, or testing complex back-office data engines (e. g., General Ledger, Billing systems, or accounting platforms).
- Self-motivated, proactive mindset comfortable working independently as a standalone QA in Europe while collaborating with international teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combined education and work experience).
