I've partnered with an incredibly dynamic, fast‑growing Media & Entertainment business based in Central London to find a hands‑on Accounts Assistant. This is a brilliant opportunity to embed yourself within a creative, scaling SME. As the company continues to expand its footprint in the entertainment space, your career and responsibilities can grow directly alongside the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Recording day to day financial transactions and completing the posting process
- Verifying that transactions are recorded correctly for the supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Processing accounts receivable/payable
- Bringing the books to the trial balance stage
- Entering data, maintaining records and creating reports
- Managing the filing of invoices and expenses, scanning, archiving and shredding of older files
The Ideal candidate:
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands‑on experience with spreadsheets
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Previous experience of SAGE
- Knowledge of the Tour Operator Margin scheme (TOMS) desirable
- Ad‑hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager
