Goodman Masson are currently working with a social housing organisation in Sussex to recruit for an interim M&E Surveyor.
Rate - £200 - £250 a day INSIDE IR35 umbrella About the Role Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering mechanical, electrical, and energy-related services across residential and non-residential buildings.
You'll be responsible for managing contractors, overseeing works on-site, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to energy efficiency and carbon reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Oversee and supervise planned maintenance and responsive repairs, including: Electrical systems and testing Fire alarms and emergency lighting Lifts, door entry systems, and rewiring Mechanical plant and equipment Manage contractors and consultants, ensuring works are delivered: Safely On time Within budget To high quality standards Design, specify, and supervise M&E works in line with: Current legislation British Standards Industry best practice (e. g.
CIBSE guidance) Lead on energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, including: Carbon reduction projects Renewable technologies (e. g. solar PV) Energy performance assessments (EPCs, SAP calculations) Monitor energy usage and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.
Support compliance activities, including: Legionella risk management Health & Safety inspections and reporting (including RIDDOR where required) Liaison with asbestos specialists Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
Monitor project budgets, valuations, and contractor payments.
Carry out site inspections and ensure works meet required standards.
Maintain accurate asset data and contribute to statutory reporting.
Provide technical advice to internal teams, residents, and stakeholders.
