Job Purpose: An advisory firm is seeking an experienced consultant to join their life team as an Actuarial Manager. You’ll support the existing team in offering a range of actuarial services and tools to a portfolio of clients within the insurance industry. You will be working on a range of projects including reserving and Solvency II work, risk modelling, risk management, M&A, ALM, ESG, IFRS 17, data science and analytics. The Advisory team offers a diverse range of services focused on delivering value-driven advice and outcomes. With deep knowledge across various business sectors and markets, they navigate the ever-evolving landscape of risks and opportunities. The team operates at strategic, operational, and project levels, tackling everything from technology to risk advisory with precision and efficiency. Joining this team means working on some of the most thrilling financial operations and business ventures globally, honing your skills alongside industry-leading professionals. We seek individuals who are proactive in managing their tasks yet adept at collaborating with others, regularly communicating with senior management, directors, and partners to support businesses effectively. You’ll be empowered to identify opportunities for enhancing the firms services and providing additional value to our clients. You’ll Be Someone Who Is: A qualified life actuary with strong technical expertise. Robust technical acumen in actuarial practices. Hands-on involvement in at least two of the following areas within life insurance: reserve calculations for financial reporting, Solvency II Technical Provisions, Solvency II Standard Formula, Capital Modeling, Enterprise Risk Management, ALM. Familiarity with IFRS 17 is also advantageous. Openness to exploring new domains, including an enthusiasm for Data Science. Proficient in IT, including advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with a readiness to learn additional software applications (e.g., Access, SQL, R). Demonstrated experience in UK regulatory and insurance sectors is key. Preferably possesses people management skills, adept at leading teams to achieve objectives. Exhibits a keen sense of commercial awareness and risk management acumen.
