We are supporting a leading UK-based engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Technical Finance Business Partner to join their Civil Aerospace division on an interim basis. This is a high-impact role within a central Technical Finance team, focused on complex accounting issues, financial governance, and audit management. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and external auditors, playing a key role in ensuring robust financial control and compliance across a large, global business unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters in line with IFRS and internal finance policies
- Partner with operational and finance teams to support key accounting judgements and business decisions
- Lead and manage the external audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors
- Prepare high-quality audit papers and present key issues to senior leadership and audit committees
- Drive financial risk management by challenging accounting treatments and ensuring reporting accuracy
- Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews and enforce corporate governance frameworks
- Provide financial assurance across investments, bids, and procurement activities
- Contribute to the Financial Control Leadership Team, driving alignment and best practice across teams
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting expertise with solid IFRS knowledge
- Background in external audit (preferred)
- Experience working in large, complex organisations
- Strong understanding of FX and statutory accounting treatments
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex financial issues
- Able to distil complex topics into clear, concise insights
