Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Clean & Clear Operative to join our team in Halifax. As a Clean & Clear Operative, you will be responsible for conducting property clearance, final cleans, and garden work to ensure our empty homes are prepared for new residents. This is an important role that contributes to maintaining the cleanliness and presentation standards of our properties.

Please note that this is a permanent part-time position requiring 2 days of work per week.

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities for the Clean and Clear Operative...

  • Conduct property clearance, final cleans, and garden work for our empty homes.
  • Manage waste appropriately by sorting and recycling all waste streams.
  • Identify furniture that can be upcycled to our Re-Use offer.
  • Ensure the depot is clean and free from any obstructions.
  • Support and motivate staff, volunteers, trainees, and apprentices to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with other duties related to Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently when providing updates to residents.
  • Take ownership of residents' issues and strive to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and promote a positive safety-first culture.
  • Ensure compliance with risk assessments, COSHH framework, and industry legislation.
  • Perform basic checks, servicing, and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements for a Clean and Clear Operative:

  • Full Manual UK Driving Licence.
  • Practical experience in cleaning or caretaking.
  • Experience working in a customer-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet work demands and priorities.
  • Ability to operate relevant cleaning/caretaking equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping.
