A leading global energy company is seeking a Senior Treasury Accountant to join their growing Treasury and Trading team. This is a hands-on role, providing technical treasury accounting expertise, supporting derivative and hedging activities, and contributing to key projects across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage hedge accounting processes, documentation, and effectiveness testing for financial and physical commodities, FX, and interest rate derivatives.
- Support mark-to-market valuations, interest accruals, debt restructuring, intercompany balances, and SAP GL interface operations.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual Treasury reporting, including note disclosures and Expected Credit Loss calculations.
- Assist with Treasury projects, including Treasury Management System implementation, debt capital markets initiatives, and tax restructuring support.
- Develop and maintain Treasury controls, procedures, and standards, supporting internal and external audits.
What we’re looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, with proven Treasury Accounting experience in energy, commodities, or upstream oil & gas.
- Strong knowledge of IAS 32, IFRS 7/9, and practical hedge accounting.
- Experience with Treasury Management Systems (Refinitiv, Integrity, Coupa preferred) and SoX controls.
- Advanced Excel skills, confident in PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
