I am working with a large Registered Provider who are seeking a Senior Design & Technical Manager to lead design delivery across multiple housing schemes. This is a senior role with responsibility for managing teams, consultants and the full technical process from early design and planning through construction and post-completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Design & Technical team across multiple residential projects
- Oversee design from inception, planning and procurement through to handover
- Provide technical input to scheme appraisals, pricing and early-stage design
- Coordinate consultants and manage design deliverables to meet cost, quality and programme targets
- Work closely with Land, Commercial and Construction teams to ensure buildability and cost effectiveness
- Support due diligence processes and manage technical risk
- Set, monitor and control design-related budgets
- Ensure compliance with H&S, building regulations and governance requirements
Candidate Experience:
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (design or construction related)
- Professionally qualified or working towards (CIOB, RIBA or similar)
- Proven experience in a senior design or technical management role within residential construction
- Strong technical, commercial and project coordination skills
- Experienced people manager with the ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong IT skills including MS Office and MS Project or Asta
- Sound understanding of contract management and risk control
- Knowledge of CAD and BIM beneficial
