Goodman Masson are partnering with a leading London-based housing provider to recruit a Claims Surveyor into a high-profile Property Services team. This is an opportunity to join an organisation responsible for delivering and maintaining homes at scale across one of the UK's most complex and dynamic housing environments. The role sits at the centre of repairs, disrepair, insurance claims, planned maintenance and customer satisfaction — combining technical surveying expertise with strong stakeholder and contract management.

The Opportunity

As Claims Surveyor, you will take ownership of surveying and maintenance activity across a substantial residential portfolio, ensuring repairs and investment works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard. You will manage building defects and claims from investigation through to resolution, overseeing contractors, coordinating inspections and ensuring services remain compliant, resident-focused and cost effective.

The role will cover a broad range of responsibilities including:

  • Managing repairs, maintenance and building defect resolution across residential housing stock
  • Leading on disrepair and insurance claims management, ensuring legal and contractual obligations are met
  • Delivering pre- and post-inspections of completed works and maintaining quality assurance processes
  • Managing damp, condensation and leak investigations, ensuring cases are proactively progressed through to completion
  • Supporting planned preventative maintenance programmes and identifying future investment requirements
  • Producing technical reports, specifications and condition surveys, including CPR35-compliant reporting where required
  • Managing contractor performance, variations, approvals and service delivery standards
  • Leading complaint resolution activity and driving improvements in resident satisfaction
  • Supporting operational performance through data analysis, reporting and service improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation and construction best practice

About You

We’re keen to speak with experienced surveying professionals who bring a strong understanding of repairs and residential property management environments. You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Experience managing repairs, disrepair, insurance claims or maintenance programmes within housing or residential property
  • Strong technical knowledge of building defects, surveying and specification writing
  • Experience managing contractors and holding suppliers accountable for performance and delivery
  • Knowledge of housing and property legislation including disrepair and landlord obligations
  • Experience delivering inspections and producing technical reports
  • Strong customer management and complaint resolution skills
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Experience interpreting performance data to drive service improvement
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements including CDM regulations
