A leading quant trading firm are looking to hire an Assistant Accountant into the team who they will train, develop and support through their accounting exams while progressing up within the team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone early on in their career who is wanting to join a high performing and highly regarded firm in the investments space who leverage off technology in every aspect of the business.

They are looking for someone who is ambitious and is a high achiever - therefore they have a preference for someone who has obtained a degree from a top University in a field related to accounting & finance or a mathematics / science related subject. They are open to someone with some accounting experience and can demonstrate their interest in pursuing a career in accounting. They are also quite open on level though so it can be someone who has done an internship or placement year in accounting or someone who already has up to 2 years of experience in an accountancy role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the production of monthly management accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements
  • Support the Accounts payable and receivables function
  • Assist in maintaining general ledger entries and journal postings
  • Prepare reconciliations
  • Analyse financial data to support business decisions
  • Support the budgeting process
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for recurring tasks
  • Leverage coding and scripting languages (e.g. Python, SQL, VBA) to build tools
