Looking for a Technical Accounting contractor to join a global media group for a 6 month contract. This contract role will support a Group Reporting function with the implementation of new UK GAAP standard, with a primary focus on revenue recognition. The role will also provide broader technical accounting support to ensure consistent and compliant application across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assessment and implementation of new UK GAAP revenue standards across the group.
- Interpret technical accounting requirements and provide clear guidance to finance teams.
- Prepare technical papers and supporting documentation for audit and internal review.
- Support development of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provide technical input on other areas including leases, PPA adjustments, and disclosures.
- Liaise with external auditors and advisors to agree technical positions.
- Deliver training and knowledge-sharing on new standards and technical topics.
Required Experience
- Qualified ACA accountant.
- Strong technical UK GAAP knowledge, particularly revenue recognition.
- Experience in group reporting and/or technical accounting roles.
- Proven ability to draft technical papers and work with auditors.
- Experience with revenue recognition, leases, PPA, consolidation, multinational group environments, and accounting change projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Able to attend the London office 2β3 days per week.
