I am working with a UK based Housing charity to recruit for a Senior Finance Officer.You will be working closely with the Head of Finance to take ownership of the invoicing and sales processing within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Finance Officer include:
- Take charge of our sales ledger, ensuring precise recording of all income (service users, grants, donations). You’ll also oversee invoicing, reconciliation, and direct debit collections.
- Lead the charge on debt management, engaging with clients and funders to resolve payment issues and providing critical insights into debt trends.
- Work closely with management accounts team to ensure month end is closed on time and with accuracy
- Contribute to crucial month-end and year-end reporting, generating in-depth analyses on cash flow and debt for strategic decision-making.
- Conduct thorough monthly bank reconciliations
- Mentor junior members of staff to ensure work is accurate, providing guidance on best practice
Key Experience as a Senior Finance Officer:
- Prior experience in sales ledger management and credit control
- Ideally AAT Qualified or actively studying
- Understanding of not for profit sector
- Strong proven excel skills
- Experience of using Dynamics would be useful
- Strong communication and stakeholder management experience
