You know your stuff. Now you want more from it. Maybe you’re ready for a role with more ownership, client exposure, interesting work, and involvement in reviewing and supporting trainees. We’re recruiting for this Accounts Supervisor opportunity following an internal promotion, the kind of progression we actively encourage across the firm.

You’ll be joining a small, collaborative and technically strong Accounts team working across a varied client base including owner-managed businesses, charities, international subsidiaries and entrepreneurial growing businesses. You’ll work closely with our three Managers, Accounts Trainees and the wider firm, combining hands-on accounts preparation and compliance work with workflow coordination, technical review responsibilities and day-to-day trainee support.

Importantly, you’ll be joining a firm that continues to invest in its people, technology and working environment, without losing the supportive and down-to-earth culture that makes people stay.

What You’ll Be Doing

Following an initial settling-in period to get to know the team, clients and systems, you’ll begin taking ownership of a portfolio of non-audit assignments heavily weighted towards accounts preparation, with a proportion of corporation tax work. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax computations and VAT work across a varied portfolio.
  • Reviewing work prepared by trainees and junior team members, providing clear and supportive feedback which helps support their progression and development.
  • Supporting workflow management across multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Working closely with Partners, Managers and clients to ensure smooth delivery of assignments.
  • Supporting the development of trainees through day-to-day guidance and technical support; you’ll often be their first point of contact for technical questions and workflow support.
  • Working with a range of systems including CCH, Xero, QuickBooks and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Contributing to workflow efficiencies, process improvements and evolving digital ways of working, including the use of evolving digital tools and technologies.

Beyond the day job, you’ll be joining a genuinely close-knit and collaborative team. People support each other properly during busy periods, share knowledge openly and enjoy spending time together outside of work too. From away days and social events to quiz nights and sports teams, there’s a strong sense of community across the firm, without any pressure to constantly socialise if that’s not your thing.
