Sessional rate up to £13,500 per session | Permanent and 12-month fixed-term options available
The Goodinge Group Practice is a long-established training practice in Islington. We are currently actively recruiting GPs to increase the capacity of our team and reduce GP workload. We are also advertising for two 12-month posts covering maternity leave, package to be negotiated either as a fixed term salaried contract or on a locum basis.
What's on offer
- 4-6 sessions per week, starting from £11,800 to 13,500 per session per annum based on experience.
- 12-month Fixed-Term (maternity cover) x2: choice of £360 per session locum rate, or a salaried contract at up to £13,500 per session with full benefits depending on experience.
- Two weekspro rata private study leave, two dedicated sessions for appraisal.
- We are actively recruiting to reduce our appointments per session. Currently 14 appointments per session with a view to reducing over time.
- Double-length appointments for patients requiring translation.
- 6 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays, pro rata
- The annual NHS pay award in full; for salaried GP contracts, the current award will be applied at the end of your 6-month probationary period.
- BMA model contract and paid medical defence subscription
- Weekly mentoring with a GP partner, and a genuinely supportive multidisciplinary team
- Salaried GPs rotate participation in a dedicated MDT meeting, held in protected time
About us
We are a long-established GP training practice with around 12,500 registered patients, based in a purpose-built health centre, a five-minute walk from Caledonian Road tube station (Piccadilly line) and 10 minutes from Kentish Town (Northern line). Our multidisciplinary team includes, Physician Assistants, clinical pharmacist, pharmacy technician, practice nurses, HCAs and a strong admin team, and we hold regular medical student placements.
Training Practice
The Goodinge Group Practice is an established GP training practice. We provide supervision and training for clinical and non-clinical staff members and offer support to our salaried GPs through weekly mentoring with a GP partner if desired.

Person specification (all posts)
Essential
- GMC registration with licence to practise; inclusion on the NHS Performers List
- Experience working as a GP in UK general practice
- Competence managing acute presentations and chronic disease in primary care
- Safe and effective prescribing practice
- Good record keeping and understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding and risk management
Desirable
- Experience in teaching, mentoring or clinical supervision
- Experience with diverse populations
- Familiarity with EMIS
