Our customers are predominantly leading multi-national businesses in automotive, aerospace, medical, heating, cooling, retail displays, electrical and water distribution, and building products. We are looking to expand our capabilities, in line with the growing industries demands. With 4 sites across the UK, Goodfish Group is looking for a Quality Shift Leader, based at our Cannock site. You will be responsible for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in line with the production plan and within all quality parameters. This position is also responsible for the safety and performance of all production employees on their designated shift.
Outputs:
- Perform effective shift handover working together with the opposite Quality Shift Leader.
- Carry out effective production meeting at the start of each shift to ensure clear work instructions are provided to all operators and KPIs are reviewed daily.
- Organise and communicate break times for the shift.
- Responsible for first off and last off on all production on your shift with any relevant information issued prior to production run.
- Ensure all team members are working safely and effectively on shop floor at all times through observation, regular quality checks and talking to team members.
- Provide support and training for operators ensuring that all team members are skilled on all jobs.
- Ensure escalation process is used promptly to resolve production/quality concerns.
- Investigate and report all incidents and near misses relating to Health & Safety.
- Provide production progress reports to the Production Planner and your line manager throughout the shift.
- Responsible for highlighting all people issues within your team to your line manager.
- Inform the Site Leader of all occasions of lateness, sickness and absenteeism (on the day).
- MRP Easy to be updated through the shift.
- Manage holidays and absence.
- Suggest and implement continuous improvement and cost saving ideas.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace in accordance with 5s protocols.
Personal:
- Experienced in plastic injection moulding with a good eye for quality.
- An experienced shop-floor leader with proven ability to lead change and achieve measurable results.
- A health & safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely would be an advantage.
- Determined to achieve individual and team goals.
- Able to communicate instructions and report concerns clearly and objectively.
- Be observational and aware of what is going on around you.
- Have a conscientious attitude to work with a quality mindset.
- Confident to offer ideas regarding process improvements.
- A good team player who is supportive of colleagues.
Hours:
You will be employed to work 38.45 hours per week (including a combination of paid and unpaid breaks). You will be elected to work alternating shifts, covering two day shifts 06.00 - 14.00 (Mon-Fri)/14.00 - 22.00 (Mon-Fri). A flexible approach to working additional hours, possibly on nights or weekends when required, is preferred.
