The Role
We are building a talent pool of experienced Realtime Supervisors to support upcoming realtime projects at Goodbye Kansas Studios across Cinematics, VFX and Realtime. As a Realtime Supervisor, you would take ownership of realtime delivery across projects. You would lead teams, shape technical direction, and ensure that realtime workflows are robust, scalable and aligned with creative and production goals. You would act as a key point of contact between artists, production, pipeline and clients, helping teams navigate complexity while maintaining high visual and performance standards.
What You’ll Do
- Take overall responsibility for realtime delivery on projects, ensuring quality, performance and deadlines are met
- Lead and support realtime teams across multiple productions, providing direction, structure and clarity
- Define and own project specific realtime workflows in collaboration with Pipeline, Production and other department leads
- Act as the primary escalation point for realtime related risks, blockers and technical decisions
- Work closely with producers and executive producers on project planning, scoping, bidding and feasibility
- Ensure cross discipline alignment between Realtime, Animation, CFX, FX, Lighting and other departments
- Review and approve technical approaches to ensure assets and scenes function correctly in engine
- Oversee performance and optimisation strategy across projects, balancing creative ambition with technical constraints
- Support knowledge sharing, mentorship and consistency across the realtime team
- Contribute to longer term development of realtime standards, tools and best practices at Goodbye Kansas
What you will bring
- Extensive experience working in realtime production environments such as AAA games, high end cinematics, virtual production or similar, with time spent at Senior or Lead level
- Proven experience leading or supervising realtime teams and owning delivery across projects
- Deep practical understanding of Unreal Engine and its use in commercial or client facing productions
- Strong knowledge of realtime rendering, lighting, optimisation and cinematic workflows
- Confidence making technical decisions that balance visual quality, performance and production realities
- Experience working across complex, multi department pipelines and coordinating technical handoffs
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Perforce, Git or similar
- Experience supporting or guiding tool development using Python, Blueprints or other scripting approaches
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align artists, producers and clients
- Fluency in English

- Experience supervising virtual production projects or on set realtime workflows
- Knowledge of in engine physics systems for cloth, grooms or destruction
- Experience with Chaos or similar simulation frameworks
- Background in one or more core 3D disciplines
- Experience with Houdini, Blender or similar DCC tools
- Experience with shader languages such as HLSL
- Experience with C++
- Understanding of colour management in realtime pipelines
