Good Maven is a specialist design recruitment and coaching company. We partner with leading tech companies like AT&T, The Athletic, Monday.com, n8n, Sanity, Wayflyer, Slashwork, and Vertice, to build exceptional design teams. Our work is primarily retained search, focused on niche, complex, and hard-to-fill roles where quality and precision matter.

You'll join a team of ex-Microsoft, ex-Meta/Facebook design recruiters and design coaches, where you can learn, grow, and develop to the top of your game.

We're looking for a Talent Sourcer with strong experience in hiring product designers. This isn't a passive sourcing role; we're looking for someone who is thoughtful about quality, can identify strong design work, and engages candidates with care and intention. Our clients partner with us for our specialism in design hiring, so we're looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in this area. You don't need to have done only design hiring, but you should feel confident assessing product design talent and understanding what "good" looks like. This role will suit someone who has spent a meaningful portion of their time working on design roles and is excited to deepen that craft further. You'll play a key role in identifying and engaging top design talent across the UK and Europe, working closely with our recruiting team and clients. We also welcome full-cycle recruiters with strong design hiring experience. You can start in this role as a sourcer, working closely with our team and founder, and if you're interested, grow into a full-cycle recruiter over time. Progression as a specialist sourcer is equally valued. While we offer coaching and support, this role is best suited to someone who already has a grounding in design hiring and is looking to refine and elevate their approach.

What You'll Do

  • Source and engage high-quality product designers across the UK and Europe
  • Partner closely with recruiters to shape talent pipelines and search strategies
  • Develop a strong point of view on what "great" looks like across different design roles
  • Contribute to improving how we assess and engage design talent
  • Build long-term relationships with candidates and the design community

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience sourcing product designers
  • Good understanding of design craft and ability to assess portfolios (or a strong desire and foundation to build this further)
  • Experience hiring across the UK and Europe, with strong knowledge of the talent landscape
  • A thoughtful approach to Design hiring, not just execution but sourcing strategy and curiosity to try new things.
  • Alignment with our mission and values

Nice to Have

  • Experience hiring UX/design engineers, UX researchers, brand or content designers, or design leaders
  • Experience hiring in the US
  • Background across both in-house and agency environments

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: £45,000–£70,000 depending on experience
  • Private health insurance (WPA) for you and your family
  • £500 annual learning and development budget
  • 28 days paid holiday
  • NEST pension scheme
  • Best-in-class tools: LinkedIn Recruiter, Ashby, Juicebox, and more

Working Style

  • Fully remote
  • Monthly in-person meet-ups in London with the team
  • 38-hour work week
  • Reports to Head of Recruitment

Our Values

  • People Focus: We put people over profit and support decisions in their best interests
  • Social Impact: We build equality, diversity, and inclusion into everything we do
  • Courage: We challenge convention and support individuals to realise their potential
  • Integrity: We act with honesty, openness, and a commitment to learning
  • Excellence: We aim to be world-class in design hiring and coaching

Why Join Us

We are intentionally building a different kind of recruitment company. We aim to move away from traditional agency models (aka grind culture) built on long hours, high-pressure targets, and purely transactional, full-desk recruitment. Filling complex, hard-to-fill roles across geographies requires deep thinking, craft, and strong partnership. We prioritise building meaningful, durable relationships with clients over quick wins. We encourage entrepreneurial ownership, where each person takes responsibility for their work while knowing when to ask for support. We invest in best-in-class tools and infrastructure so you can focus on doing your best work. If you care deeply about design and want to help shape how great teams are built, we'd love to hear from you.
