Help grow a national movement for car‑free leisure. Good Journey is looking for a passionate individual who shares our belief that everyone should be able to access culture, heritage and nature without a car to join a volunteer board of directors.

Good Journey is a small not‑for‑profit Community Interest Company. We champion car‑free leisure travel across the UK and work to reduce carbon emissions produced by leisure travel. Our vision is to transform leisure travel across the UK so that more people choose car‑free days out, the impacts of traffic are reduced, and everyone can enjoy leisure, culture and nature without needing a car.

We are delivering change through our B2B membership and partnership schemes, consultancy with tourism attractions and businesses, local authorities, and Destination Organisations, working with organisations including the Royal Horticultural Society, the National Trust, English Heritage, and Historic Environment Scotland. Together we promote, incentivise, and make it easy for people to choose the train, bus, walking, or wheeling for their days out and UK holidays. Our website www.goodjourney.org.uk provides the public with discounts at hundreds of attractions and places to stay across the UK. Easy‑to‑follow car‑free travel directions are powered by integrated journey planning technology from our core partner, Traveline.

Our impact: Around 60% of a visitor attraction’s Scope 3 CO2 emissions come from visitor travel. Good Journey’s pioneering work across the UK tackles this challenge head‑on. We've been grateful to receive grant funding from the Foundation for Integrated Transport and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. We're also proud winners of the Best Decarbonising Leisure Travel category at the 2026 Decarbonising Transport awards, demonstrating the strength and importance of our work in sustainable travel.
