Lead and manage multiple HV/MV Protection Systems projects concurrently from project award through to successful client handover and project closeout, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, OEMs, system integrators, and internal stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution, including:

  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for protection panels and Substation Automation Systems (SAS)
  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Protection relay testing, configuration, and commissioning
  • System energisation and integration with existing substations and utility networks

Project Management & Delivery

Lead project across all phases, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Coordinate engineering, procurement, system configuration, installation, testing, and commissioning. Identify delays, implement recovery actions, and manage escalation.

Planning & Scheduling

Develop and oversee detailed project execution plans, milestone schedules, and short‑term look‑ahead plans. Monitor engineering deliverables (relay schemes, SLDs, wiring and logic diagrams), procurement activities (IEDs, protection panels, RTUs, communication equipment), system configuration (IEC 61850 SCL files, relay settings), installation, integration, testing, and commissioning.

Budget & Commercial Management

Track project costs against approved budgets, support cost forecasting and financial reporting. Prepare and manage documentation on progress claims, invoicing, variations, change orders, subcontractor claims, and vendor coordination. Support project profitability, cash flow, contract compliance, and risk mitigation.

Stakeholder & Client Management

Act as key liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, OEM suppliers, system integrators, and internal departments. Lead project coordination meetings, provide regular updates, and ensure effective communication and expectation management. Support technical clarifications, contractual discussions, and dispute management.

Risk, Safety & Quality Management

Maintain and manage project risk registers, ensuring mitigation plans are implemented. Address relay coordination conflicts, network integration issues, IEC 61850 interoperability, and interface mismatches. Ensure compliance with company Workplace Safety & Health policies, Singapore safety regulations, and client/project‑specific quality requirements. Coordinate site safety compliance with installation teams.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

Coordinate seamless project handovers from Sales to Project Delivery teams. Work with engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution, including relay settings, IEC 61850 coordination, protection panel installation, wiring, and testing using equipment such as OMICRON. Ensure complete and accurate project documentation and handover: as‑built drawings, relay settings files, SCL files, commissioning reports, and O&M manuals.

Requirements

5–10+ years of experience in power systems, substations, protection & control systems, utility or grid environments. Strong hands‑on experience with HV/MV protection systems projects, protection relays (distance, differential, overcurrent), relay coordination studies, SAS, IEC 61850 protocols, IEDs, RTUs, protection panels, communication systems, FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning, and protection testing equipment such as OMICRON.
