ABOUT THIS ROLE

Reporting to the UK&I Managing Director, the role of the UK&I Ecommerce Director is to grow and develop the e-Commerce channels including ghd's D2C, Amazon and our Selected Ecom Players business. Leading a talented team of ecommerce and performance experts to develop and drive innovative, and ambitious commercial strategies that deliver on all revenue and strategic objectives.

The UK & Ireland is the largest and most developed market for ghd. It is a critical territory for the sustainability of the brand at a global level. Consequently, the Ecommerce Director is a key stakeholder within the organization and will be responsible for showcasing the best in class Ecom performance and execution globally.

The Ecommerce Director will inspire and lead their team and the organization with forward thinking ecommerce strategies and will be the go-to source of expertise as well as an inspirational leader with great external networks in the market & amongst retailers.

LOCATION

This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the sustainable growth of the brand in your channels, to meet or exceed objectives, driving revenue growth and winning market share.
  • Remit includes D2C, Amazon, Selected Ecom Partners and new business.
  • Define, manage and evaluate the E-commerce channel objectives across categories to achieve the total commercial strategy, sell out, market share, revenue & profit targets.
  • Lead the Performance marketing teams across Paid Media, Search, CRM, Affiliates to create value growth and drive ROI.
  • Manage the Gross to Net and overall profitability of your customers to find efficiencies YoY.
  • Create and own all commercial JBPs for the channel, building value and great relations with our customers.
  • Lead a team of ecommerce, media and commercial specialists to hit category and channel goals.
  • With Marketing support, create differentiated trade, campaign and asset plans to achieve our objectives & meet customer, category and acquisition targets.
  • Drive excellence in execution on all categories to be best in class & build a love brand.
  • Work collaboratively and harmoniously with the Marketing teams across Retail Media, Paid, Owned and Earned & Events to strategise and create the fuel needed for the brand growth.
  • Lead with a clear vision on ghd's omnichannel approach, ensuring balanced and healthy coexistence and growth in every channel, with clear monthly activation plans, O2O activations & 1P data growth for improved CLTV.
  • Operational excellence in day-to-day management of the channel with Revenue forecasting accuracy, management of customers, S&OP processes, financial reporting, regional reporting etc.
  • Build long-term, positive top to top relations and partnerships with clients and key partners.
  • Anticipate and adapt to customer and consumer needs.
  • Work with the S&OP team and Financial Business Partner for financial forecasting and stock management to improve processes and communication flows to ensure stock fulfilment and forecast accuracy.
  • Work closely and maintain direct relations with Global teams & agencies to ensure we are fulfilling the Global strategies & guidance.
  • Strong strategical thinking and concrete sense of execution within global framework required.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and excellence, instil a digital-first mindset.
  • Play a pivotal role in the Leadership Team & People agenda to strive to make ghd the best place to work for our teams, always acting as role models.
  • Build and preserve a happy, productive, and inspired team, futureproofed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A commercial superstar, with vast experience in managing a sizeable D2C, Amazon and selected ecommerce business.
  • Proven skills in increasing performance & overachieving on growth objectives.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, demonstrating high standards of skills on analytics, P&L, margin & profitability modelling.
  • Preferred - Network & experience amongst our retailers understanding them and the market dynamics.
  • Expertise in all things D2C including PPC, Affiliates, SEO and CRM.
  • Proven top-to-top negotiation skills, within highly professional joint business plans environments.
  • Ability to drive new business strategies through new partnerships and alliances.
  • Experience in mentoring, developing, empowering, and leading exceptional, high performing teams and individuals.
  • Work 100% collaboratively with key stakeholders, marketing, supply & finance.
  • Self-motivated, passionate leader with a positive 'anything is possible' mindset.
  • Resilience and agility to the dynamic nature of the ever-changing market and business needs.
  • Instinctive commercial flair to drive decisions that improve KPIs and performance.
  • Ability to lead & present with gravitas with clients, teams & fellow colleagues.
