ABOUT THIS ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Salon Sales, the National Account Manager owns the day-to-day relationships with key national salons to continuously grow and develop within the channel.

The role nurtures client relationships through a consultive business to business approach by focusing on and understanding their businesses, challenges, and goals to maximise value through creating committed partnerships with ghd.

Driving a real sales culture, the National Account Manager leads the delivery of hands-on solutions with a 360-degree approach via visual merchandising, education and eventing ensuring a best-in-class service is provided.

This role will directly contribute to profitable growth & the delivery of financial targets for the UK and Ireland’s salon channel.

The UK and Ireland is the largest and most developed markets for ghd.

It is a critical territory for the sustainability of the brand at a global level.

Consecutively, the National Account Manger plays a key role within the salon channel fostering a true partnership with our national salons to grow and develop our presence and drive sales.

  • JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Foster a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Role model and champion the 5Cs framework, be Collaborative, Creative, Courageous, Connected, Committed.
  • Develop strong working relationships at all levels in each approved national account within the UK through a consultative business to business approach
  • Visit and work with all UK and ROI national account salons alongside each BDM to understand each salon, brand awareness, visibility and grow sales.
  • Build joint business plans with each national account to secure strong foundations and ensure successful execution of sales activations agreed.
  • Arrange monthly meetings to present promotional activity and identify areas for growth in consultation with the salons nationally.
  • Develop close relationships with key team members to help negotiate the successful execution of the sales, marketing, e commerce and educational plans within each account.
  • Communicate this plan to the UK Sales team via monthly and quarterly call plans and attendance at monthly sales meetings.
  • Responsible for individual account profitability as set by senior management.
  • Report weekly to Head of Salon Sales and Finance current performance, growth plans and activations.
  • Interpret and deliver statistics at senior levels within both the salon and ghd organisations.
  • Report on all relevant competitor sales and marketing activity.
  • Negotiate prime retail positioning and window display space in all targeted accounts.
  • Responsibility for managing account debt levels within set criteria.
  • To uphold the high standards of integrity for both the brand and the company in all areas of operation of the sales function.
  • Achieve all targets as set and agreed in consultation with the Head of Salon Sales.
  • Work closely with ghd marketing team to manage customer sales and marketing budget as agreed with finance.
  • Host key nationals account customers at exclusive launches and events.

• Form relationships and work closely with

  • Internal –Head of Salon Sales, Area Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Finance, Education team, Credit control and Supply Chain team.
  • External – Senior Management within each national account: Salon franchise managers, Owners, Regional Managers, Education, Marketing, e Commerce, and any other relevant personnel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of the hairdressing industry and salon operations.
  • Proven account management experience specifically negotiating with senior stakeholders within key/national accounts.
  • Experience of influencing and negotiating with teams at all levels.
  • Demonstrates good networking skills (internally and externally) and actively seeks to use contacts to further their own input, impact, and influence.
  • Self-motivated, passionate, empathetic individual with a positive attitude, “can do” approach and entrepreneurial growth and ‘anything is possible’ mindset.
  • Resilience and agile to the dynamic nature of the ever-changing market and business needs.
  • Strong organisational skills, an eye for detail and ability to juggle multiple projects and ability to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability, can give examples of taking measured risks to achieve results.
