ABOUT THIS ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Category & Trade Marketing for the UK & Ireland, the Category & Product Manager will be responsible for driving our growth via one/two categories/products strategy.
By using data and insights, the Category & Product Manager will determine the opportunity for ghd’s strategic priority categories.
Therefore, determining the relevant category strategy required including the optimum level of investment, the right distribution and activations needed to reach the maximum potential.
The Category & Product Manager will work cross functionally to bring to life the strategy across all commercial and marketing teams.
LOCATION
This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
- JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Act as the Brand owner of your categories (Stylers, Dryers, Wet-to-Dry etc) setting the vision, building the roadmap, and holding the business accountable for delivery.
- Define the optimum category strategy: the right investment level, the right distribution footprint, the right activations to capture maximum potential and an always-on calendar.
- Own category profitability and growth, ensuring full alignment with the broader marketing and commercial strategy.
- Work with demand planning to size the prize and forecast long-range product demand with rigor.
- Turn consumer data into actionable insight to shape strategic recommendations for your key categories/ products and drive business decisions.
- Stay ahead of the curve on consumer trends, competitive dynamics, and category shifts becoming the internal authority on your category landscape.
- Partner with Finance, Marketing, and Sales to develop holistic category strategies that ensures category profitability, growth, and alignment with the company’s broader marketing strategy
- Own the category calendar across all retail partners, working hand-in-hand with Brand, Online, Trade Marketing, and Commercial teams on a best-in-class always-on plan, make ranging and differentiation plans, thanks to data analysis to reinforce the strategic recommendations.
- Drive ranging and differentiation plans with retail customers, using data to reinforce strategic recommendations and strengthen ghd’s multi-category strategy.
- Ownership and Accountability for driving Category focus across all channels.
- Work closely with the Head of Category and Trade Marketing to upskill commercial and marketing teams ensuring that there is understanding of category customer targets for always all activations, promotions and new product launches.

- Expertise in category management, pricing & promotional strategies, and retail optimization.
