Delivery Manager
Birmingham or Exeter, hybrid Β· Β£30,000 to Β£40,000, dependent on experience Β· Flexible working, core hours 10am to 3pm

Be the person our clients call first. Then be the person who makes it happen.
This isn't a project management job with a client attached, it's a client job with delivery at its heart.
As a Delivery Manager at Good Growth, you're the face of the work for some of the biggest brands in retail and e-commerce. You're the one on the weekly call, the one who knows what the client is worried about before they say it, and the one who turns a conversation into something live on their site in days, not months.
Yes, you'll keep things on track. But we're not looking for someone who manages the board. We're looking for someone who manages the relationship, picks up the phone when something's stuck, and doesn't rest until it's moving again.
If your idea of a great day is a perfectly groomed backlog, this probably isn't the role for you. If it's walking out of a client meeting with a clear plan, a decision made and a client who trusts you a little more than they did yesterday, keep reading.

Who are we?
We help ambitious brands unlock growth that legacy systems, slow decisions and old ways of doing things can get in the way of.
We combine data, insight and technology, increasingly through our own Good Growth Technology (GGT) platform, to find the opportunities that matter and turn them into results. We've spent a decade helping global brands grow and we're trusted by major retailers and e-commerce leaders.
We're organised into small client Pods, each owning a portfolio of accounts rather than working project by project. That means you'll get to know your clients properly, and they'll get to know you.

So, what's the role actually about?
Every client account has a what, a why and a how. Our Client Success Directors own the what and the why. You own the how, and you own it in front of the client.
That means you're the day-to-day relationship for your accounts. You'll lead the regular conversations about priorities, get decisions out of busy stakeholders, set honest expectations and keep everyone confident about where things are heading. When a client asks for something, you'll work out what they actually need, agree it with them and rally our developers, analysts and designers to deliver it.
It also means getting things done. Work doesn't stall on your watch. If something is blocked waiting on sign-off, an asset or an answer, you don't just flag it in a status update. You chase it, solve it or find another way round it.
You'll partner closely with your Client Success Director, who'll lean on you to know the detail of each account and to spot the opportunities and risks that only someone close to the work would see.

Our Three E's;
Everyone at Good Growth is measured on three things. They matter more to us than any certification or tool on your CV, so here's what they look like in this role.
  • Energy. You bring momentum into the room, whether it's a Monday stand-up or a tricky client call. You're curious about our clients' businesses, you're up for a challenge and you'd rather pick up the phone than wait for a reply. People leave conversations with you feeling like things are moving.
  • Empathy. You understand that behind every request is a person with their own pressures, targets and boss to answer to. You listen properly, read the room and adapt how you communicate, whether you're talking to a Head of Ecommerce or a developer on our team. You can deliver difficult news in a way that keeps trust intact.
  • Effectiveness. You get the right things done, not just a lot of things. You know the difference between tracking work and moving it forward. You make decisions, take ownership of problems that aren't strictly yours and follow through on what you say you'll do. Clients and colleagues know that if it's with you, it'll happen.
You'll probably love this if...
  • You get a buzz from building relationships and being someone's trusted go-to person.
  • You're happiest when you're talking to people, not just updating tools.
  • You see a blocker as a problem to solve today, not something to note in next week's report.
  • You're comfortable having honest conversations with clients, even when it isn't the news they wanted.
  • You like variety, and you're happy juggling several accounts and a few curveballs at once.
It might not be for you if...
  • You'd rather manage the board than the relationship.
  • You need every piece of work written up as a detailed ticket before you can get going.
  • You see your job as reporting on progress rather than making it happen.
  • You're looking for a role with very little client-facing time.
What you'll be doing
  • You'll be the main day-to-day contact for your clients, building trust and keeping them confident in what we're delivering.
  • Leading regular client conversations on priorities, expectations and what's coming next, and getting the decisions needed to keep work moving.
  • Turning client needs into clear briefs, then bringing our developers, analysts and designers together to deliver them.
  • Spotting blockers early and clearing them, whether that means chasing a sign-off, rethinking a plan or having a frank conversation.
  • Keeping your Client Success Director in the loop on how each account is really doing, including risks and opportunities you're seeing on the ground.
  • Making sure what we learn from each piece of work is shared, so we get better as a team.
  • Helping shape how our Delivery team works as we grow.

What we're looking for
We care far more about how you are with people than which project tools you've used. We can teach you our processes and platforms. What we're really looking for is warmth, confidence and a natural way with people. If you've got that, we'll help you build the polish that makes clients love working with you.

You'll need:
  • Experience in a client-facing or customer-facing role where you owned the relationship, not just the schedule.
  • Confidence leading conversations with stakeholders, including senior ones, and keeping them on side when things get tricky.
  • A track record of getting things over the line, ideally with a story or two about a time you unstuck something that everyone else had left sitting.
  • Clear, warm and proactive communication, written and spoken.
  • The ability to travel for client meetings when needed.
It's a bonus if you have:
  • An interest in e-commerce, UX, CRO, analytics or digital marketing.
  • Experience working alongside technical teams such as developers or analysts.

Some of our best Delivery Managers have come from account management, agency client services, event management, hospitality and retail management. If you've spent your career keeping people happy while making sure things actually happen, you'll fit right in.

Don't tick every box? That's fine. We're interested in your potential as well as your experience, so if you think you could do a great job here, we'd love to hear from you.
