No direct reports - this is a functional leadership role in GGi's flat structure.

GGi - good-governance.org.uk - is a growing, independent management consultancy dedicated to strengthening governance, strategy and leadership in public-purpose organisations. Since 2009 we have built deep, trusted roots with the NHS and health bodies, higher education institutions, local authorities, charities, housing associations, regulators and other mission-driven entities across the UK, including sports, culture and membership organisations.

We believe good governance is a force for good in the world. It inspires confidence, enables bold decisions and creates lasting value for the communities our clients serve. Our distinctive approach combines practical tools, honest advice, strategic insight and a deep desire to learn about each organisation we work with. We are professionally curious as a team, respectful and empathetic in our client relationships, and committed to sharing knowledge, thought leadership and continuous learning.

We grew our income by 50% last year and are targeting the same rate of growth again. This is underpinned by an ambitious, exciting business plan focused on sustainable expansion. We are just about to launch a ground-breaking RAG AI system that will make our enormous knowledge library and website content far more accessible and valuable, alongside a very exciting marketing plan for the coming year. We already have a huge capital of goodwill and well-organised relationships. Much of our work is repeat business. We now need these relationships managed even better, and we need a professional who will catalyse our consultants (the main relationship holders) while strengthening the overall marketing and client-success engine.

We are seeking a marketing and relationships manager to sit at the heart of our business development and communications team which is directly managed by the two founding partners. You will manage the marketing and relationships function (not a team of direct reports), working closely with our events team, wider communications colleagues and the consultants who own day-to-day client relationships. Customer success will be an important part of the role - ensuring existing clients feel the value of working with GGi and that opportunities for deeper, longer-term engagement are systematically identified and supported.

This is a great job for someone professionally ambitious. GGi completely values marketing and communications. You will receive strong support, real professional exposure and the chance to make huge steps in growing a well-known and respected organisation.

You will bring:

  • solid experience in marketing, client relationship management, customer success or a closely related commercial role (ideally within professional services, consultancy or a knowledge-based organisation)
  • the ability to turn goodwill and existing relationships into structured, measurable growth
  • confidence working with and influencing senior consultants and partners without line-management authority
  • strong organisational skills, CRM fluency and a practical, results-oriented approach
  • genuine enthusiasm for GGi's mission and values (ethics, social conscience, creativity, commercialism and kindness)

What you can expect:

A pivotal functional role in a rapidly scaling, purpose-driven consultancy. You will shape how we market ourselves, how we nurture relationships and how we convert our strong reputation into sustained growth. You will work with talented and able colleagues, gain broad professional exposure and have the opportunity to leave a clear mark on a respected national organisation.

GGi is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and operates a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled applicants. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.
