Description This job opportunity is with Amelio, a proud member of the Good Energy family. No day will be the same – here are some of the highlights We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrician to join our fast-growing team. As a key member of our management team, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of both commercial and domestic Solar PV installations. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, ready to make a long-term impact, and keen to take on a leadership position within a company that delivers a significant number of Solar PV projects each year. In this hands-on role, you’ll manage a team of 5 electricians and report directly to our Operations Director. You’ll lead the day-to-day operations of Solar PV installations, primarily on commercial properties, with some domestic installations as well as domestic and larger commercial battery installations. Your expertise in Solar PV and leadership skills will be essential in ensuring the smooth execution of each project. Responsibilities: Play a key role in project and operations management, advising on technical design and purchasing decisions. Lead the ongoing training and recruitment of the electrical team to meet business needs. Ensure all sites comply with health & safety regulations. Coordinate with the office team regarding materials and logistics for efficient project execution. Oversee the completion of installations, troubleshooting any issues prior to handover to ensure high-quality standards. Inspect completed installations and resolve any technical challenges. Communicate effectively with customers, addressing questions and concerns. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all projects. Adhere to company policies and procedures while driving continual improvement in standards. As this is a hands-on role, be prepared to pitch in and support the team to meet deadlines. Travel to various UK sites, as the majority of your time will be spent on-site. What you'll need to succeed We’re looking for an experienced and skilled Electrician with a passion for Solar Energy to join our team. You’ll have extensive experience as a NICEIC or NAPIT registered electrician, along with MCS-accredited training and certification in solar PV installation and maintenance. You’ll have hands-on experience with grid-tied industrial, commercial, and domestic Solar PV systems in the UK, and a proven track record of leading installation teams to ensure successful and profitable projects. Your technical knowledge of popular solar PV brands, including SolarEdge, and your expertise in connecting PV and battery systems for web monitoring will be key to your success. Higher-level electrical qualifications, such as Level 3 NVQ, HNC/HND, AM2, and Inspection and Testing, are essential. Essential Skills and Experience: Extensive experience as a NICEIC or NAPIT registered electrician MCS-accredited training and certification in solar PV installation and maintenance Proven experience with grid-tied industrial, commercial, and domestic Solar PV systems in the UK Strong commercial acumen, with experience leading a team of installation electricians Knowledge of popular solar PV brands and equipment, ideally including SolarEdge Higher-level electrical qualifications (Level 3 NVQ, HNC/HND); AM2 and Inspection and Testing Excellent IT skills and experience with connecting PV and battery systems for web monitoring Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong time management and organisational skills Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship Desirable: ECS Card with additional safety qualifications for working at heights, confined spaces, etc. If you're an experienced Senior Electrician with a strong background in Solar PV and a passion for leadership, we’d love to hear from you! Basic hours are Monday – Friday 08:00-16:00 but must be happy to do additional hours and overnight stays away as required.
