Whether you’re a seasoned estimator looking for a part-time position, or a freelancer who takes on quoting and sales work independently — we’d like to hear from you. The priority is finding someone who genuinely knows the industry and can hit the ground running.
HOW THIS ROLE COULD WORK
- Part-time employed: A regular part-time position with set hours each week. Ideal if you’re looking for something stable and ongoing alongside other commitments.
- Freelance / contract: Working with us on a self-employed basis, handling quotes and customer enquiries as needed. Flexible and project-based.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Receiving and reviewing customer enquiries — interpreting technical drawings, DXF/DWG files, and written briefs.
- Producing accurate, competitive quotes for CNC machining, laser cutting, and engraving work.
- Liaising with production to understand lead times, material availability, and capacity.
- Following up on quotes and converting enquiries into confirmed orders.
- Building and maintaining relationships with new and returning customers.
- Responding to customer enquiries efficiently, and keeping them up to date with process.
- Identifying opportunities to upsell or suggest more efficient manufacturing approaches.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience in estimating or technical sales within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes – laser cutting / CNC / Waterjet / Vinyl / Embroidery / Heatpress – or similar background.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
- Commercially minded — understands margins, materials, and machine time.
- Excellent communication skills; confident dealing with customers by phone and email.
- Organised and self-sufficient — equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
