Due to substantial growth in this market, we are looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious National Sales Executive to join a forward-thinking, market-leading UK supplier and distributor based in Coventry. This is an excellent next step for a field salesperson with relevant industry experience that is ready to take responsibility for a larger territory (Midlands) and develop broader customer relationships and build a long-term career.

Working to strengthen our client’s presence across the UK Air Conditioning and Refrigeration market, this is a full-time, permanent, field-based position, offering a salary of £45k - £50k doe plus bonus, company car and benefits. This role will involve extensive regional travel across the Midlands including overnight stays where necessary. The role will build strong relationships at branch level, increase awareness and understanding of the ACR product range, and turn customer insight into sustainable sales growth across the assigned territory.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with branch managers, branch teams, internal sales colleagues and relevant customer contacts.
  • Maintain a structured territory and call plan, with a minimum of three days each week spent externally with customers.
  • Plan and deliver branch breakfast mornings, product awareness sessions, trade events and other practical customer engagement activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product availability, visibility, range penetration and sales, while providing useful market intelligence and customer insight to the wider commercial team.
  • Understand the commercial and operational needs of individual branches, including local demand, customer profiles, stock requirements and opportunities for growth.
  • Support senior commercial colleagues in larger account meetings, customer presentations or negotiations when required.

Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities required:

Experience:

  • Proven field sales experience within air conditioning, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing and heating, building services, or a closely related merchant or distribution environment.
  • A strong understanding of how merchant branches operate and what branch teams need from their suppliers.
  • Experience managing a broad geographical territory, planning customer activity effectively and staying away from home when required.
  • Knowledge of copper tube, fittings, refrigeration tube, line sets or associated ACR products would be beneficial.
  • Experience running branch events, breakfast mornings, product training, trade counter activity, or participating in meetings with regional or national customer decision-makers would also be useful.

Skills:

  • Confidently explain and demonstrate the ACR product range to groups and individuals.
  • Develop new opportunities through targeted, well-researched activity rather than unplanned door knocking.
  • Work closely with internal sales, product, marketing and customer service colleagues to make sure opportunities are followed through.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer activity, opportunities and agreed actions.

Personal Qualities:

  • Outgoing, personable and comfortable starting purposeful conversations with a wide range of people.
  • A natural relationship builder who listens carefully and takes time to understand what each branch needs.
  • Commercially aware, curious and able to recognise a genuine opportunity rather than simply completing visits.
  • Organised, self-motivated and disciplined when working independently across a large area, with ambition to develop their career.
  • Practical and hands-on, with a willingness to demonstrate products and support customer events.
