Good Business is a market-leading sustainability agency and a certified B Corp. We help businesses and brands succeed in the future by embracing transformational change. We have 30 years’ experience of working with clients to deliver sustainability services, behaviour change and social impact programmes, and climate advice making us pioneers of the power of good. We are looking for a Consultant to join our Climate team, based in our London office.

This is an exciting opportunity for a person who wants to help businesses, brands, government and NGOs tackle some of the biggest social and environmental challenges of our time. Our clients, who include Aviva, VMO2, Rathbones, and Just Eat Takeaway, as well as social enterprises, charities, foundations, local authorities and start-ups, look to us to help them create transformational change.

In this role, you will be involved in client-focused assignments from the outset as a part of our entrepreneurial and lively team. You will take increasing responsibility for your own projects over time, working with our Senior Sustainability Partner and our team of climate consultants. You will lead on the delivery of corporate carbon footprints for domestic and international companies, modelling carbon reduction targets and pathways in line with the latest scientific information. You will support Good Business in growing our climate services, offering strategic insight and inspirational solutions for our clients, and identifying new business opportunities and partnerships.

All our projects are tailored to our clients’ needs, so while every assignment is different, you will develop skills that apply to a range of projects. You will be a strong communicator and enjoy analysing data, drawing insights, paying close attention to detail and providing robust recommendations. You will embrace challenges, and work collaboratively and creatively to provide pragmatic solutions.

We have a relaxed and collaborative office culture. Although our outputs are professional, our structure and approach is far from corporate or conventional. Our team is passionate, thoughtful and opinionated, with experience from a variety of industries, such as advertising, hospitality, public sector, non-profit and research.

We provide benefits and flexible support to help you be your best self at work. Some of our perks include enhanced parental leave, private medical insurance, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and days between Christmas and New Year when the office closes), 6% pension contribution, two volunteering or learning “Good Days” and additional leave if you choose to take the train rather than the plane. Everyone has individual and group-based training and development opportunities, and a line manager and peer buddy for support and guidance.

Essential skills:

  • detailed knowledge of best practice in corporate GHG accounting and familiarity with the GHG Protocol
  • an understanding of net zero requirements (e.g. Science Based Targets initiative) – we expect to see an awareness of these concepts even if the candidate has not worked directly with these
  • completed GHG Protocol training for scope 1 & 2, and scope 3 (with certification), or extensive experience completing carbon inventories for scope 1, 2 and 3
  • experience working with large and complex data sets, manipulating data, and visualising outputs
  • has experience of working with and presenting to clients
  • has a proven interest in business and environmental issues
  • has exceptional written, verbal, analytical and communication skills with demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • experience in conducting product life cycle assessments
  • experience of modelling carbon emissions to 2030, based on commercial corporate activities
  • understanding of climate risk, BVCM, transition plans and nature
  • experience of writing and delivering environmental reporting disclosures (e.g. CDP, TCFD)

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG training (preferred but not essential if candidate can demonstrate capability in other ways – our expectation would be that this would be completed in the first six months by the successful candidate if they do not already have it)

The role is office-based, with an expectation of a minimum of three days/week in the office.

Start date: By 1st April 2026 (preferred) with the latest suitable start date of 15th April 2026.

Closing date for applications: 13th February 2026. Please note that you must have the right to live and work in the UK.

To apply, please send a short covering letter outlining your experience and reasons for applying, together with a CV, to recruitment@good.business. Only applications received through this email address will be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online numeracy skills assessment and short written test before being invited for interview.

We want to make sure that everyone who wants to apply for this role can do so. Please inform us of any adjustments you may require to participate fully in our recruitment process. You can do this when submitting your application in the email. Any information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
