JOB PURPOSE

  • Support manufacturing to improve yields, RFT and reduce downtimes, whilst maintaining high quality standards.
  • Process, manage and reduce product on hold, ensuring product flows back into production effectively and raising training and process corrective actions when required.
  • Support and facilitate continuous improvements by identifying areas of deficiency, recommending/implementing appropriate changes in training, working practices and processes for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides technical support to production.
  • Supports the technical issue escalation process from manufacturing, with the appropriate level of on hand shop floor support in each production area.
  • Participates in process improvement strategy to reduce waste, reduce lead times, improve yield and reduce product costs, utilising CI and Lean practices in conjunction with the CI engineer.
  • Evaluates on hold material on daily basis, ensuring any parts which cannot be dealt with immediately have an action and owner.
  • Resolves issues with manufacturing when product quality risks are identified.
  • Provides support to Engineering projects, business projects and the RMA process.
  • Supports the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when required.
  • Monitors and report yields, offers ideas and solutions for improvements.
  • Completes agreed standard work daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Identifies best practice and introduces it to the rest of the line.
  • Ensures first line equipment checks and preventative maintenance are completed on time and in full.
  • Performs all job duties within ISO and AS standards, regulatory or statutory requirements.
  • Maintains a safe working environment, performs all job duties in a safe manner whilst complying with all G&H policies and procedures.

SPECIALIST FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Use of Syspro (or equivalent) and legacy business systems
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Awareness of documentation structure
  • General computer literacy
  • Understanding of KPI metrics

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • HNC in Engineering or Mathematics based subject desirable
  • Experience in a technical production environment
