As a leader in the development of cutting-edge optical technologies, we specialize in products that serve a diverse range of markets. Our innovations include high-power optical amplifiers and transmitter sub-systems for satellite communications, advanced acousto-optic devices for quantum technologies, and photonic integrated circuits for next-generation optical components and systems. We are seeking a skilled Optical Systems Design Engineer to join our global R&D team and contribute to the design, prototype assembly, and testing of fibre-optic and photonic-based sub-systems.

Design & Development: Lead the design and development of photonic and fibre-optic components, modules, and sub-systems, leveraging G&H's cutting-edge fibre-optic and opto-electronic technologies.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including mechanical and electronic design engineers, to create innovative products that push the boundaries of optical technology. Engage in hands-on prototype assembly and rigorous testing to ensure the highest standards of product performance and reliability.

A degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required. A PhD in a relevant discipline is a strong advantage. A self-starter with the ability to independently drive projects forward, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver results with minimal supervision. Experience in the design and development of fibre-optic and free-space transmission systems (analogue, digital, coherent) is a plus. The ability to generate proposals and manage both the financial and technical aspects of development projects is also advantageous.
