Gondal Accountancy is looking for a motivated Accountant / Semi Senior Accountant in Birmingham, West Midlands to join our team and support our existing team of accountants. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their technical accounting skills in a supportive and professional environment, while gaining exposure to a wide range of clients and industries.

Work Location: Please note that this is a fully office-based role.

Qualification Details: ACCA Part Qualified / Qualified.

As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of statutory and year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Carrying out day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including bank reconciliations and ledger management
  • Using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting, including formulas and pivot tables
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns in line with HM Revenue & Customs requirements
  • Liaising with clients professionally to obtain financial information and assist with queries
  • Assisting with payroll processing and related compliance tasks where required
  • Maintaining organised records and providing general administrative support to senior accountants
  • Ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work, reviewing data carefully, identifying discrepancies, and consistently meeting deadlines

We are looking for someone who is:

  • ACCA/AAT qualified/part qualified or equivalent is essential.
  • Organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Confident using Xero and Microsoft Excel
  • Able to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Professional and confident when communicating with clients and colleagues
