This role requires a senior contributor with identifiable middle market relationships, credit, deal execution and legal documentation experience. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, structuring and reviewing new investment opportunities and monitoring existing investments.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with private equity sponsors to identify and source deal flow
- Developing investment ideas and opportunities for clients
- Analysing existing portfolio companies for refinancing or add on financing opportunities
- Mining portfolio accounts for debt opportunities from banks and/or opportunities to take over agency positions for Golub Capital
- Organising marketing calls and client events
- Determining appropriate loan structures; providing oversight throughout the closing of new business loans and amendments
- Actively participating in the development of new underwriting and approvals
- Assisting other team members in transactions to meet the overall new business targets of the team including deal referrals, support with sponsors and introduction of new product ideas
- Developing strong working relationships with all key departments of Golub Capital
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in a related financial subject area with an outstanding record of academic achievement
- At least 8-10 years of experience working in financial services, with 3+ years of related experience supporting and/or managing relationships to source deal flow
- Leveraged lending experience in an investment bank or asset management firm that actively serves this targeted client base
- Experience working with financial sponsors
- Strong work ethic and high sense of urgency
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of the credit markets
- Ability to effectively communicate with external clients
- Preferably good comprehension of at least one European language, in addition to English
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture
