We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our established inpatient therapy team working across our hospital sites. The post will contribute to service delivery in the Acute Physiotherapy team. The Acute Services team provides physiotherapy assessment and treatment across a range of specialities at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The Acute Services Therapy Team supports the full patient pathway including the early assessment, rehabilitation, signposting and facilitation of discharge and care into the community.
Main duties of the job:
- To provide therapy assessment and treatment of patients under the guidance of a qualified Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.
- To be responsible for the delivery of care within agreed guidelines and protocols.
- To provide support for the overall Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy service needs.
- To be the first point of contact for assessment from the Therapy Services when determined by the Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.
- To manage own caseload including ward management using comprehensive risk assessment/management under the guidance of a qualified Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.
- To carry out community visits including home visits and access visits.
- To undertake specific clinical responsibilities or projects supporting the overall delivery of Therapy services.
- To participate in a 7 Day Service.

Person specification:
Experience/Qualifications:
- Broad experience of working as a Band 3 Occupational Therapy /Physiotherapy Assistant.
- Recent experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the members of the team.
- NVQ level 3 in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support (or Care with relevant Physiotherapy Units)/Allied Health Professionals (Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy) or relevant health and social care qualification.
- Portfolio evidence of relevant experience/ Continuing Professional Development in specialist fields.
- Experience of working in acute/community settings.
- IT skills.
