Associate (Account Executive)/Senior Associate (Senior Account Executive), Risk and Reputation Team
About Us: Sitting as part of the Risk & Reputation team, this role is a unique opportunity to work closely with consumer-facing brands as a trusted reputation advisor. Our team is not made up of ‘pinstripe corporate suits’, and the work we focus on is how to empower brands to boldly communicate on topics such as sustainability, purpose, and their impact – leaning into the opportunities that arise when taking a risk. While our team sits in London, this role provides the opportunity to work on clients and with award-winning Golin / IPG teams across the world. This is a fantastic opportunity for a smart, ‘can do’, team player who is an established Account Executive or budding Senior Account Executive to step up and begin to own interesting and thought-provoking workstreams.
Purpose + Planet Practice: The Risk & Rep team is also part of the Global Purpose + Planet practice. This practice reflects the DNA of Golin and its commitment to brave work. We’re a team of more than 40 subject matter experts in climate change, sustainability, social impact and activism. And we’re obsessed with studying culture and how it creates social change – and changes brands for the better. We design powerful campaigns and programs focused on sustainability, social good and equity - driven by ideas that inspire awe and action. We’re here to do the best work of our lives so together, we can create change that matters.
The Role: You are the foundation of the team, supporting both Golin Risk & Reputation and other teams, working directly into a range of client leads, from brand teams, to communications teams and up to CEOs. You will help research, map and track reputation insights and strategies for campaigns and brand programs, and disseminate information to both the client and internal Golin teams. This role brings the best of both worlds by being ‘hands on’ by executing campaigns and will also provide plenty of opportunities to learn and provide counsel and connecting all the moving parts of the team to bring about best in class execution.
Who You Are: You are a sponge who is constantly looking for opportunities to learn and build on your current agency or in-house experience to advise some of the biggest brands in the world. You are able to skillfully juggle the everyday tasks of keeping both clients and internal team on track, always putting your best foot forward in terms of work-quality and output. You are developing an understanding of earned, paid and owned media, and looking to build relationships by understanding and operating in the Golin G4 model. Crucially, you always “go all in” for your work and supporting the teams you work with.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Driving and successfully delivering a range of press office, community management and project-by-project basis tasks; a hybrid blend of retainer work and project opportunities; working with various teams across the agency on different topic areas.
- As Day-to-Day problem solver for your clients, responsible for a variety of project management tasks (writing timelines, drafting emails, taking notes, etc.).
- Providing critical monitoring support for a range of world-leading brands, but developing your counsel and recommendations beyond the simple ‘X has published this article’ round-up emails.
- Building critical knowledge of client(s) industries, products, and their world, and using this knowledge within day-to-day tasks to produce bold, creative work.
- Contribute to program planning and management by researching budgets; taking notes at meetings; managing timelines; attending brainstorms; managing purchase orders and managing vendor relationships.
- Analyse a variety of information and synthesize it into meaningful and actionable direction for team members and begin to start crafting your direct client counsel and recommendations.
- Reporting and tracking of campaigns, helping the team to build a full understanding of performance and ensuring we are presenting this to the client for every project.
- Challenging yourself to contribute to the client business and the Agency business beyond the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Accurately contribute to healthy team financial behaviour, such as regular timesheet entry, managing financial payments and fulfilling and managing your billable time.
