Can you inspire large teams to deliver excellence, every single day? We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced social care manager to lead 7-bed short breaks services, supporting adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and/or Autism. We are a care provider, regulated by the Care Quality Commission and responsible for the effective delivery of high-quality personal care and support.

We are seeking someone who can provide strong, visible leadership and can take forward the ongoing development and delivery of our services. You must be passionate about supporting people, and confident in leading and motivating large teams. You will need to be highly motivated, self‐disciplined, and able to work proactively using your own initiative.

You will play a key role in maintaining service standards and compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements. You will also participate on the Council's out of hours on-call rota. The successful candidate will be required to complete the Care Quality Commission (CQC) 'Fit Person' interview, demonstrating their ability to lead and manage a safe, effective and well-led service. An enhanced DBS with adults barred list check is required for this post. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability. We are a Disability Confident Employer.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or other equivalent qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent level of social care management experience;
  • Experience in people and performance management in a regulated care environment;
  • Experience of managing services, motivating and leading staff, setting clear priorities and objectives;
  • Theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of provider services (social care), the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, and relevant other regulatory requirements applicable to social care providers (Regulated Activities);
  • Ability to generate new and innovative solutions to both straightforward and complex problems, developing and driving a culture of continuous improvement;
  • Understanding of the Council's Adult Social Care Strategies, relevant regulations/legislation and service frameworks underpinning practice in community care and residential settings;
  • Ability to analyse information to reach sound decisions using risk management tools;
  • Ability to prepare budget forecasts and plans for future expenditure and oversee effective allocation of resources in line with objectives.

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents.
