We are looking for a motivated and skilled person to step into this new permanent role within the Charnwood Operational Commissioning management team. The successful applicant will line manage Community Support Workers (CSW) and Community Reablement Workers (CRW) in all three locality teams (C&PD, LD&A, MH L&R), working closely with the Team Managers of those teams. Knowledge of one or more of these areas is beneficial but more important is a clear and positive approach to supporting vulnerable people in the community within the framework of departmental policy and national legislation.
As well as case support for staff, the Team Leader will share the responsibility for the flow of work in and out of the three teams’ waitlists: risk rating and ensuring the waiting well policy is followed. The management team in Charnwood is a positive and supportive environment; the Team Leader will be line managed by the Senior Service Manager (SSM) and supported by the wider team.
About the Role
The Team Leader will be operationally responsible for the day-to-day management of Community Support Workers and Community Reablement Workers within the Operational Commissioning teams helping to ensure high standards and an effective service. The key duties include:
- To improve outcomes for people by supporting staff to implement the department's operating model and ways of working to deliver effective social care.
- To provide technical and professional support to team members.
- Provide effective management of waitlists, flow of work and support for those waiting.
- To improve ways of working for staff by supporting and implementing improved working between teams, children’s services and partner agencies with a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) focus.
- To ensure the effective management of performance and resources.
- To provide performance and delivery reports to Strategic Service Managers and Heads of Service (HOS).

About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Have NVQ 2 or equivalent or demonstrable experience, or have substantial adult social care experience and knowledge of The Care Act 2014 and theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of social care legislation, policy and best practice.
- Demonstrable skills in people and performance management.
- Have experience in successfully prioritising between competing service demands and in budget management.
- Understand partnership pressures and interdependencies relative to the service area.
- Partnership/MDT working with representative citizens and carers to identify service and support solutions.
- Safeguarding and protection of vulnerable people at an operational supervisory level and dealing with complaints and commendations.
- Be able to develop trust within the team and encourage team members to build positive, trusting relationships with each other, across departments and with customers, service users, partners and/or the community as appropriate.
