Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR Strategy: Develop and deliver people strategies that align with Council priorities and enable long‑term organisational success.
- Drive Performance & Workforce Planning: Use data, insight, and analytics to strengthen workforce planning, performance management, talent development, and service redesign.
- Lead a High‑Performing HR Team: Inspire, coach, and support a team of HR professionals to collaborate effectively, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver outstanding HR services.
- Manage Complex Casework: Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues while building strong, constructive relationships across the organisation.
- Champion Change: Act as a trusted strategic partner to senior leaders, enabling sustainable change and continuous improvement.
- Promote Inclusion & Equality: Embed equality, diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of our workforce strategy, ensuring compliance and advocating best practice.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with senior leaders to strengthen leadership capability and ensure HR initiatives support the Council’s wider goals.
Who We’re Looking For
- An influential, forward‑thinking HR leader with a CIPD qualification and experience in senior strategic HR roles within large or complex organisations.
- Strong expertise in recruitment, casework, workforce planning, service redesign, and talent management.
- Confidence using data and insight to shape strategy and drive service improvement.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
