About the Role
This customer‑focussed role involves working in a fast‑paced, front‑facing licensing service, providing a professional and responsive service to members of the public, licence holders and applicants. You will process licence applications and issue licences within agreed corporate timescales, ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the process. The role includes arranging and conducting appointments with drivers to check documentation, ensuring compliance with Right to Work and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records. The postholder will process a wide range of regulatory applications, mainly taxi licensing, made under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts 1976. Delivering a high‑quality, efficient and customer‑centred service while managing competing priorities is a key part of this role.
