About the Role
Are you someone who takes pride in your community and enjoys working outdoors? We’re looking for motivated and reliable Refuse Collection Loader to help us keep Nottingham one of the cleanest, greenest, and most welcoming cities in the UK. You will play a key part in maintaining the city’s streets, parks, and public spaces – supporting everything from refuse and recycling to grounds maintenance and environmental cleansing. Every day you’ll see the difference your work makes to the people who live, work, and visit Nottingham. You do not need a driving licence to apply for this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out waste and recycling collection, and general environmental maintenance.
- Support winter operations, including snow clearance and gritting.
- Work flexibly across frontline neighbourhood services depending on service needs.
- Represent Nottingham City Council with pride, professionalism, and respect for our residents and environment.
What We’re Looking For
- A team player who enjoys practical, outdoor work and takes pride in doing a great job.
- Ability to walk up to 15 miles a day in all weather conditions.
- A sound understanding of health and safety, and willingness to follow best practice.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Commitment to excellent customer care and equality of service for all.
- You do not need a driving licence to apply for this role, you just need a “can do” attitude.
