A client in the Loughborough area requires support with accessing the community and increasing their independence.

Role Requirements

  • Accessing the community - Going to parks/green spaces, going for a coffee, going shopping.
  • Some toilet assistance is required when out in the community.
  • Reassurance may be required at times when out and about.
  • 4 hours per week, support is required in the morning - Day and time to be arranged.
  • You will be required to transport the client to places of interest, so you must have access to a vehicle and a full driving licence.
  • The client may need support to transfer on and off the toilet from a mobility scooter or wheelchair when in the community depending on equipment in place in public toilets.
  • The client enjoys going shopping and visiting green spaces (e.g. parks) but finds being in crowded areas stressful.
  • The client has asthma, paranoid schizophrenia, cerebral palsy, mild learning disability, and a peanut allergy (Epipen in place).
  • The client can be difficult to understand at first; however, as a person gets to know them, it becomes easier. They may become frustrated when not understood.
