About the Role
We're looking for a driven and dynamic Operations Manager to play a pivotal role within our Waste and Cleansing service during an exciting period of transformation. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future workforce, leading on recruitment, onboarding, training and probation management for a growing team. You will be at the heart of service delivery, providing visible leadership, supporting frontline teams, and driving high standards of performance, compliance and continuous improvement. This role offers the chance to make a real and lasting impact across the service over the next 12 months.
About You
- Strong understanding of people management practices, including recruitment, onboarding, probation management, performance and attendance management
- Demonstrable experience leading recruitment campaigns and using systems/processes to appoint frontline staff
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams), to support workforce planning and reporting
- Experience working within local authority or public realm services (waste, street cleansing, environmental services)
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Experience leading large-scale onboarding or service mobilisation activity
- Full UK driving licence
