About the Role:

You will play a key role in ensuring Nottingham City Council meets its statutory, regulatory and landlord obligations by securing lawful access to properties where tenants have refused entry. Your work will protect the safety and wellbeing of tenants, neighbours, and the wider community by facilitating essential inspections and maintenance. This role can lean in two distinct directions:

  • Supporting tenants’ wellbeing and addressing vulnerabilities through empathy, communication and safeguarding practices.
  • Taking direct legal action to ensure compliance with tenancy obligations, pursuing injunctions or enforcement where necessary.

Whichever path you bring expertise in – people‑focused support or legal enforcement – your contribution will be vital in keeping homes safe and compliant.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in either tenancy enforcement, compliance or housing management OR in safeguarding and wellbeing support, including work with vulnerable individuals.
  • Knowledge of regulations and the statutory frameworks that underpin safeguarding, environmental protection or property access.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with tenants while resolving conflicts and maintaining professionalism.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to assess risks, apply equality impact assessments, record and maintain accurate records and take proportionate action.
  • Resilience and sound judgement to act decisively in high‑pressure or sensitive situations, balancing empathy with enforcement when required.
  • Relevant qualification in housing management, legal studies, psychology or wellbeing practice, or substantial related experience with a commitment to professional development.
