Our client has grown rapidly from £200k to over £2m in annual income since 2017 and is now entering an exciting new phase of development. The organisation is moving from founder-led growth into a more structured, scalable and sustainable fundraising model to support national expansion.
This is a pivotal moment in the charity’s journey. The next phase will focus on building a high-performing fundraising engine that can consistently deliver across major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partnerships. This will underpin wider ambitions including expanded hospital reach, long-term programme funding and deeper supporter engagement.
The challenge to date has been that fundraising success has been driven by strong relationships, personal networks and a powerful emotional story. The opportunity now is to professionalise and scale this success without losing the warmth, authenticity and mission-led culture that sits at the heart of the organisation. This requires a senior leader who can bring structure, pace and commercial discipline while staying deeply connected to the purpose.
The Director of Fundraising will lead the next phase of growth, transforming the fundraising function into a mature, resilient and high-performing operation. This is a senior leadership role combining strategic vision with hands-on delivery, including:
- Driving high-value income across major donors, trusts and corporates
- Building and leading a high-performing fundraising team
- Developing systems, processes and reporting to support scale
- Creating long-term income strategies and donor journeys
- Working closely with the CEO, trustees and senior clinical stakeholders
- Acting as a key ambassador for the charity externally
You will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s future and enabling its national impact.
We are looking for an experienced fundraising leader who brings both ambition and credibility, with:
- A strong track record in senior fundraising roles
- Demonstrable success securing significant income from major donors, trusts and corporate partners
- Experience building sustainable fundraising infrastructure and teams
- A values-led approach and commitment to ethical, mission-driven fundraising
- The confidence to operate at board level and influence senior stakeholders
This is a rare opportunity to join a charity with real momentum, a powerful purpose and the ambition to scale nationally. If you are a senior fundraiser who enjoys building as much as winning, and who wants to leave a lasting legacy through meaningful impact, this role offers exactly that.
