Job Details
- Position: HGV Driver
- Contract: Permanent
- Overtime: Enhanced rate
- Location: Manchester - M90 5UX
- Salary: £29,744 - £36,876.06 per year, depending on vehicle and shift
- Shift: Mon - Fri, 50 hrs/wk
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Operating commercial vehicles
- Loading and unloading goods
- Ensuring loads are safely secured
- Following traffic reports and adapting routes if necessary
- Carrying out basic routine maintenance
- Completing delivery paperwork, PDA, walk-around checks, or other documentation
- Following compliance, Tachograph regulations, and other applicable laws
Requirements
- A valid HGV license
- Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations
- Ability to operate HGVs safely and efficiently
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Familiarity with GPS and tracking devices
The Successful Candidate Will
- Maintain a positive, can-do attitude
- Be flexible and reliable
- Have at least 1 year of HGV driving experience
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Provide a clean criminal record check (obtained within 26 weeks)
- Have a 5-year checkable history
- Hold a valid driving license (if required)
- Hold a valid DQC and up-to-date CPC
