GoldSpring Consulting is seeking a seasoned Local Travel Manager, United Kingdom to oversee and optimize our client’s travel operations part-time. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering seamless travel experiences for employees across the globe.

The primary responsibilities of the Local Travel Manager, UK will be to support the EMEA Travel Manager in the following areas:

  • Policy and Procedures
    • Develop and monitor global travel policy, procedures and objectives within the local context.
    • Ensure policy and procedures are executed and followed within the organizational guidelines and philosophy by both the travel department and employees within the UK.
    • Manage daily travel operations, including traveler concerns and workflow.
    • Track and report on traveler movements provided by the TMC and provide rapid information in emergency situations.
  • Strategy and Decision Making
    • Maintain travel records and generate reports for stakeholders.
    • Report weekly to inform and recommend service and cost reduction solutions and report effectiveness of implemented programs to management.
    • Build cross-functional partnerships to drive continuous process improvement and cost reduction strategies.
    • Stay current with travel industry trends and communicate volatile industry issues to management.
  • Spend Management
    • Liaise with sourcing leaders to align local processes and initiatives with global objectives.
    • Contribute to spend category assessment and sourcing strategy, while engaging stakeholders with facts and data findings.
    • Identify spend and activity trends, determine causes, develop and implement corrective action plans as appropriate.
    • Manage discount contracts with travel-related suppliers and technology programs, including airline, hotel, ground transportation, parking, car rental and meal suppliers.
    • Establish a supplier performance management and stakeholder satisfaction scoring program for post-contract execution.
  • Other
    • The Local Travel Manager, UK is a fully remote position, with occasional travel into London, Aberdeenshire, and/or Newcastle on Tyne.
    • The role is part-time, 20 hours per week for an initial term of 1 year.
    • The Local Travel Manager, UK will receive a vacation allowance of 18 days per year and all client-recognised local public holidays.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate travel management or related field
  • Strong knowledge of travel booking platforms and expense management tools
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Certification in travel management (CTM or equivalent) is a plus
