In the School of Art we specialise in making, curating and writing about contemporary art in a dynamic, critical and interdisciplinary environment. We have a world leading reputation, and work with a network of artists, curators, galleries and museums both in London and internationally to create an inspiring and dynamic place in which to study and develop an artistic practice. About the Role

We are looking for an artist to join the BA Fine Art Extension programme in Studio Practice. The BA Fine Art Extension programme for international students is an extension to the UG programmes in Fine Art and is internationally recognised as world leading in the field of art education. You will make a significant contribution to its delivery, organisation and development. You will have your own tutor group of students for the full year of the programme and, together with two or three other tutors, will be part of a larger Convenor group. In addition to tutorial responsibilities to the students within the Convenor group you will have time and opportunity to offer sessions of your own devising that draw on your specialist experience. You will be involved in assessments, in the provision of feedback to your students, and in the interviewing of applicants to the programme. The post will require an average of two days of teaching per week.

About the Candidate

You will be an artist with a professional record of international standing and will have experience of teaching in art school. You will demonstrate a serious engagement with your own practice and be responsive to the varied and specific needs of those on this strongly student-centred programme.

In addition, you will make a significant contribution to the research culture of the School.In this respect, please note the application requirements specified in the JD under the section \’Method of Application\’. You will demonstrate a serious engagement with your own practice, and an understanding of current and emerging theories, concepts and debates within the field of contemporary art.
