About the Department

Student Support Services sit within Student and Academic Services and comprise Disability, Wellbeing, Counselling, Advice, Multi‑Faith Chaplaincy and Accommodation Services. Student Support Services provide advice and support to students throughout their journey at Goldsmiths. Student Support Services work alongside, and in support of, Goldsmiths academic faculties and schools and all other professional services, to enable every student to thrive at Goldsmiths, and to make sure they can engage with the College, the wider community and their peers.

About the role

The role provides a unique opportunity to lead the Chaplaincy team and to coordinate the multi‑Faith and interfaith services it provides to Goldsmiths colleagues and students, and to the institution as a whole and in accordance with and in accordance with Goldsmiths University of London Multi‑Faith Chaplaincy Guidelines.

The post‑holder will be expected to take an active part in strategic interfaith activities. This will include chairing the University’s Religion and Belief Working Group and contributing to the delivery of the Antisemitism Action plan which includes putting in place a framework for positive activism and engagement.

About the candidate

You will be an experienced leader/manager with a track record in providing pastoral and/or religious and/or spiritual listening, guidance and counselling to people of diverse faith and spiritual backgrounds. You will know how to approach difficult or sensitive issues and differing attitudes towards faiths and spirituality. You will have experience and past success at an operational and strategic level in improving interfaith dialogue, understanding and collaboration towards a common goal.
