The Security Department forms part of the Estates & Facilities Directorate and is responsible for delivering a professional, responsive and customer-focused safety and security service across the Goldsmiths estate.

Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the team works in partnership with students, staff, contractors and external agencies to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for the University community.

The department provides a wide range of services, including campus patrols, incident response, emergency management, control room operations, access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, event support, safeguarding and the coordination of emergency responses.

Supporting Goldsmiths' commitment to student well being, inclusion and community engagement, the Security Team plays a vital role in protecting people, property and assets while contributing to a positive campus experience.

The Safety & Security Operations Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and continuously improving the University's operational security service to ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment for students, staff, visitors, campus assets and properties.

In this capacity, the Safety & Security Operations Manager serves as the operational lead for university emergency preparedness, incident response, incident management, and stakeholder engagement.
