Risk Business: The Risk Business identifies, monitors, evaluates, and manages the firm’s financial and non-financial risks, supporting the Risk Appetite Statement and strategic plan. Operating in a fast-paced environment with advanced risk tools, the team is analytically curious, challenges assumptions, and strives for excellence.
Overview: Our platform ensures accuracy and timeliness in risk metrics delivery. Risk Engineering combines Computer Science, Mathematics, and Finance to perform large-scale risk calculations. As an Engineer, you will impact risk management, working with a talented team to develop tools, platforms, and applications, using technologies like Java, Cloud, Spark, ReactJS, and more. Your work will involve acquiring high-quality data, performing risk computations, and enabling actionable insights through data interfaces.
What We Look For
- Senior Developer experienced in large projects within a global team of developers and risk managers.
- Ability to performance tune applications for better resource utilization.
- Experience in statistical analysis of Market Risk metrics.
- Proficiency in building reports using SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Web development skills for risk management UI applications.
- Experience with databases such as Snowflake and Sybase IQ, and distributed systems like HDFS.
- Interaction with business users to resolve application issues.
- Design and support batch processes and data distribution workflows.
- Leadership in SDLC, including design, code review, and deployment.
Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 6-9 years of experience in risk technology within a bank or financial institution; market risk experience is a plus.
- Experience with relational/object databases and software development fundamentals.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies such as Scala, Java, Python, Spark, Linux, and shell scripting.
- Experience with process scheduling platforms like Apache Airflow.
- Familiarity with proprietary Goldman Sachs technologies like Slang/SECDB.
- Understanding of compute resources, performance metrics, and distributed computing frameworks.
- Knowledge of SDLC and project lifecycle management.
