YOUR IMPACT
Marcus by Goldman Sachs is looking to strengthen our Product Design capability in our London HQ. We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to come in and help expand the capabilities of our Design team as we focus on Growth, crafting seamless experiences. Our customer journeys predominantly take place over web and mobile โ but all touch points are important, and weโd like someone to lead the thinking around consistency, usability and customer delight.
In this role you will be responsible for partnering with key teams across the business including Operations, Engineering, Product Owners, Marketing and Legal & Compliance to explore the many different approaches to solve end-user problems.
We also work closely with our marketing teams and would like someone who has experience within that area to help, push our brand to be Consumer friendly. We want you to be owner and take responsibility for your work. This is not for you, if you are relying on others to push your work through.
Responsibilities
- Lead design initiatives across mobile and web focusing on user needs whilst aligning with our core business objectives
- Own your work
- Collaborate closely with Product & Engineering
- Work with our Design system and the wider team to develop it within our Consumer Brand across mobile, web and native app
- Champion opportunities to for user research
- Work with our US Marcus colleagues, and other key personnel across our division to influence and improve Design standards
- Bring innovative thinking to the way we work and the way customers and agents interact with our products
- Use data and insights to inform design decisions
- Collaborate with our Research and Analytics teams to identify improvements using a data-driven approach. Use these findings to drive design improvements
- You may also collaborate with Marketing to review output from our agencies
Requirements
- A seasoned Product Design practitioner with extensive experience in using best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
- Experience designing and delivering designs optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
- Experience of working in a regulated environment and having to balance operational, regulatory and efficiency demands whilst still shipping products with outstanding design features. Ideally within retail banking.
- Strong communication skills to discuss design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders, whether that be visual storytelling or your presenting style โ how you communicate your ideas is as important as your designs
- Experience/understanding with UX writing โ preferred, but not essential
- Great experience of thinking critically about Design processes and influencing how we work with business stakeholders, Product Owners and Engineers
- Clear understanding of the importance of user-centred design and design thinking
- A solid grasp of user-centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, usability, and accessibility concerns.
- Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design
- Knowledge of Design tooling such as Figma and Adobe suite products, Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
